Barry Dadon enjoying Season 6 of Game of Thrones

I don’t know about you, but I, Barry Dadon of House Dadon am thoroughly enjoying Season 6 of Games of Thrones.

The epic fantasy TV show on HBO just keeps getting more intriguing every year. Sure, it has its sad moments like Hodor dying and the Red Wedding. But there really isn’t any other TV show out there that is as interesting and compelling as Thrones.

You never know what’s going to happen next. Will they resurrect Jon Snow? Yes. Will Benjen Stark magically appear after five seasons to save his nephew, Bran Stark? Yes. Will Hodor come back as a White Walker?

Maybe.

Wouldn’t that be something?

It could very well happen, though. Because with Thrones, you just never know what’s going to happen next.

I’m curious to see who else will magically be resurrected or reappear in the upcoming weeks. There’s plenty of characters we haven’t seen in a while.

For instance: What ever happened to Gendry? And the Hound? Is he dead? Will be come back and fight his brother, the Zombie Mountain? And how about Thoros of Myr?

Is Dany ever coming to Westeros? She’s been talking about it since Season 1.

Is Winter coming? The Starks have said it is since Season 1.

Is Ramsay Bolton ever going to die? We’ve been waiting.

It seems like everything is finally in place for all of the chaos and madness in the world of Game of Thrones to collide. There’s only four episodes left this season. I think we’re about to start getting the answers to some of my questions. But like I said, you just never know what’s going to happen next.

Barry Dadon shocked San Jose Sharks finally make Stanley Cup

I can’t believe it. My brother-in-law’s San Jose Sharks finally made the Stanley Cup.

As a Los Angeles Kings fan, I, Barry Dadon, never thought I’d live to see the day. But the team that has choked in the NHL’s postseason tournament so many times, as the favorite so many times, has finally made it to the big stage.

For years people, including my brother-in-law, have thought the Sharks had the depth, talent and skill to make it to the Cup. Each year they failed. Over and over again. The Sharks had 10 chances to make it to the Cup, but squandered all of them. Last year they didn’t even make it to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, over the course of that time, my Kings have won two Stanley Cups. We’ve held it over the heads of Sharks fans. Now, it seems as though we’ll only have a one-up advantage on them.

These San Jose Sharks look different this year. Hungrier, faster and even more talented than before. They are four wins away from putting their names on Lord Stanley’s Cup.

And it’s hard to pick against them. They have the high-scoring Joe Pavelski and the big bearded Joe Thornton and Brent Burns, who have both taken Playoff Beards to new heights.

I mean, come on: Those two guys look like they could be actors on Game of Thrones by now. I heard at Media Day, Burns said he’s been growing his beard for 18 months, which certainly is a long time.

But that’s nothing compared to the 25-year wait San Jose Sharks fans have endured to see their team play for the Cup.

I still can’t believe they finally made it.

March Madness means bonding time for Barry Dadon and son

I don’t know about you, but I love March Madness. It’s one of the greatest sporting events of all time. College basketball is must-see TV at this point in the season. Sometimes it puts the Super Bowl, World Series and NBA Finals to shame. You just never know what’s going to happen next.

This year, however, the tournament is greater than ever. Not only are there upsets and head-spinning moments of unpredictability, but I get to watch the 2016 NCAA Tournament with my newborn son, Hudson.

Hudson is my first child, and I, Barry Dadon, love him to death. And I think he’s already becoming a huge March Madness fan. At least it seems that way based on the way he laughs and smiles while we watch the games together on our big screen TV at home.

Hudson’s only 5 months old, but he’s already got his eyes glued to the TV when watching hoops. At the rate he’s growing, he could be dunking by the age of 10.

I’m not sure how he did it, but Hudson picked No. 10 Syracuse in his bracket to win it all. That’s pretty impressive, considering the Orange have shocked the world, making it all the way to the Final Four. It’s crazy to think that Hudson is one of only a handful of people in the universe that had Syracuse going this far.

I must admit: The little kid is a pretty smart fellow. His picks, in fact, are much better than mine. Perhaps it’s beginners luck, but his bracket is way more in tact than dads.

Maybe next year I’ll check with my son before filling out my own bracket. Win or lose, watching the NCAA Tournament together is certain to be a tradition of ours for years to come.

Barry Dadon: HBO’s Vinyl rocks!

If you haven’t had a chance to start watching the new show Vinyl on HBO, you should start catching up.

The show, which features a crazy druggie who runs a rock and roll record company, is the latest work of Martin Scorsese, the legendary director of Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed and Wolf of Wall Street, just to name a few of his flicks.

This isn’t Scorsese’s first TV show. He was also the executive producer of Boardwalk Empire, another HBO that recently concluded an amazing five-year run.

Scorsese and fellow Vinyl executive producer Terence Winter were the brains behind Boardwalk Empire. Their newest work, however, has more star power with Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones also an executive producer.

The show is kind of like watching a rock and roll version of Goodfellas and Wolf of Wall Street. So far there have been cameos by actors portraying Alice Cooper, Elvis, David Bowe, John Lennon and other rock stars of the 1970s. You never know who’s going to pop up on a weekly basis.

Like many of Scorsese’s film, the show takes place in New York City. It’s a roller coaster of a ride, and with only two episodes left in the first season, I, Barry Dadon, am curious to see what’s in store for record exec Richie Finestra and his crew.

Ray Romano is also featured in the show and plays a good role as a supporting actor.

Finestra is played by Bobby Cannavale, who is well known as the gangster Gyp Rosetti in Boardwalk Empire. He’s an amazing actor, who is really good at acting psychotic.

Richie runs his company while doing drugs and getting drunk and is quite a character. He’s certainly no role model, but he’s very entertaining.

After tonight’s episode, I’m curious to see show the rest of his story plays out.

Barry Dadon living in an on-demand world

It seems like just about everything is available on demand these days.

You can get whatever you want, whenever you want, where ever you want.

Movies are available on demand on via Neflix and food deliveries are available on demand whether you want someone to go to the store for you or bring you home your own take out.

Car washes are also available on demand and so are dog walkers. Even valet parking services are available on demand.

And now flower deliveries are, too, thanks to the company I work for.

I, Barry Dadon, am the CEO and a co-founder of Ziply, an on-demand delivery and courier service that specializes in business logistics. We recently launched in the Los Angeles area.

Ziply is available via goziply.com and only takes two minutes to sign up for! All you have to do is enter your pickup address, dropoff address, some basic contact information and some comments for the delivery driver and your order is completed in no time.

Ziply is a great way to have flowers delivered to a friend or loved ones home, office or party. Some people even ship flowers via Ziply to dinner to surprise their spouse.

Ziply isn’t just a flower-delivery platform, though. Ziply also delivers jewelry, medical prescriptions, cold salads, caviar and more. Ziply also offers an oversize service, which is great for people who need to move beds, couches and other large items that fit in a pickup truck.

Ziply is available any time, any day and anywhere in Los Angeles.

If any of my followers have any questions about using Ziply, please feel free to comment on my blog and I’ll get back to you. We’d love to help you out with your next delivery!

Barry Dadon now a fan of Los Angeles Rams

I’ve never been a fan of the Rams. Until now, that is.

In case you haven’t heard, the St. Louis Rams of the NFL are moving back out west, calling Los Angeles their home once again.

It’s been a long, long time since Los Angeles has been the home of a National Football League team.

I wasn’t a fan of the Rams the last time they were in California, as I’ve always been a Raiders fan. It’s kind of hard to like the Raiders these days, though. They aren’t exactly the Team of the Decades like they used to be. Their Commitment to Excellence hasn’t been real convincing either.

In recent years I’ve become a Cincinnati Bengals fan because my friend, Rey Maualuga, is on the squad. It’s hard not to support a team when your pal suits up for them on Sundays. Especially a good player like Rey.

Now that the Rams, who are practically my neighbors, are going to be be suiting up in Los Angeles on Sundays, I suppose I’ll have to root for them as well, giving me three teams to follow. One tough thing about becoming a Rams fan is that I’m going to have to learn who is on their team. Other than Todd Gurley, they don’t have the same star power as the Rams of yesteryear.

But having the Rams in town also helps my wife, Ashley, and I have to a have common team to root for with our son, Hudson. Since Ashley is a San Diego Chargers fan, it gives us a common denominator that we both can support. After all, I can’t stand the Chargers and she can’t stand the Raiders.

Barry Dadon: Uber living life in the fast lane

Sometimes it seems like Uber just can’t keep its foot off the pedal.

The ride-hailing company just finished another round of funding, lifting its overall company valuation to more than $51 billion. That means the app is now worth more than four times the value of Hertz and Avis, both of which are rental car companies that have been around for a long time.

Uber raised more than $1 billion in its latest round of funding, getting support from Microsoft and Indian media conglomerate Bennett Coleman & Co.

Perhaps the most interesting point about this latest round of funding for Uber: It is now the most valuable startup in the world. Practically everyone on the planet now knows what Uber is, and you can’t really go anywhere anymore without noticing one of its cars on the road.

Uber recently surpassed Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone company valued at $46 billion, for the No. 1 spot. I, Barry Dadon, think it’s amazing that Uber has increased its valuation by $10 in the past seven months.

Even more impressive: It took Uber just five years to reach the $50 billion mark, while it took Facebook almost seven years.

With Uber operating in more than 300 cities in 58 countries around the world, I wouldn’t be surprised to see ride-sharing app keep on growing at a rapid rate.

These days, Uber truly is living life in the fast lane.

Barry Dadon: Remember to draft Pittsburgh Steelers this year

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a big offensive goal this season: to score 30 points per a game.

While that might sound like a rather high number, Big Ben and Co. did average 27.3 points per game last year. So really, we’re just talking about an extra field goal per contest. And when put it those terms, that certainly doesn’t sound out of the realm of possibilities.

It does, however, mean that you might want to draft Big Ben and a few other Steelers for your 2015 fantasy football team.

Big Ben is coming off a career year, recording 4,952 passing yards and 32 touchdowns in 2014. There’s no reason to think that he can’t put up those type of numbers again. Can he, however, top last season?

I, Barry Dadon, am not so sure. I do think Big Ben is a safe QB1 in all leagues, though. And I’m also thinking about drafting Le’Veon Bell, who is reportedly looking more explosive than ever, rather early.

In the wide receiving corps, Antonio Brown is always a legit threat. I’m also considering taking Martavis Bryant.

Now I just need to hope that nobody in my league is reading my blog. And if my friends are reading this blog, they might want to consider the fact that this could all just be a decoy and that I don’t actually plan on taking any Steelers this year because I don’t think they’re actually going to score 30 points per game.

Barry Dadon: I was hoping Brady’s suspension would be cut

I don’t know about you, but I, Barry Dadon, was sure hoping that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s suspension was going to be cut in half.

And that’s not because I am a fan of Touchdown Tom and the Patriots. Rather, I was hoping that Brady would come back in time for Week 3, suiting up in time to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But National Football League Commissioner wasn’t on board with my plan.

You see, my brother-in-law is a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan. I know, you’re probably thinking those don’t exist. But there is at least one.

If you’ve ever met a Jags fan, you probably know that it’s fun to make of the Jaguars. It’s too easy. So I was hoping Brady would come back just in time to take on the Jaguars, routing them in the process to show he’s back and ready to try and defend his fourth Super Bowl title.

But, for once, the Jaguars are catching a break. They get to avoid playing Tom Brady. They’ll still have to take on Bill Belichick’s team nonetheless. And the likely outcome isn’t going to be favorable for the one Jaguar fan I know.

And if by some chance the Jaguars upset the Patriots, I’m sure they’ll still have a lousy season and I’ll have plenty of reasons to remind my brother-in-law that he’s a fan of a really, really bad team.
